HAPPINESS IS A FRAME OF MIND

Image
The actions of people either in your everyday life or stories you hear on the news will affect you in some way. It is you who chooses your response. Sometimes you may feel: Sad Angry Frustrated Depressed ¯ It’s okay to feel these emotions. Sometimes these feelings are an essential springboard to moving forward in your life. Feel these feelings and move through them, but don’t choose to always be Sad, Angry, Frustrated or Depressed. ¯ Make the choice to be Happy. It’s always your choice and always will be your choice. Things that I have been grateful for this week: The cooler days of summer The A/C off and the windows open Fish Tacos 100 year old Tequila Seagulls Watching low flying airplanes with my Grandson Helpful people Meditation The healing properties of Vitamin E Good walking shoes

THE WHITE SNOW OWL

Years ago working I was working with the local Meals-On-Wheels program. There was the stories and nuggets of wisdom to be shared. However, being the nature lover that I am one moment stands out. As I walked through the very overgrown trees and up the decaying cement steps the older woman stood there quietly waiting for her meal. She looked at me with her kind face and white hair and pointed slowly toward the top of a tree. I slowly turned and looked up into the tree branches. Staring back at me (right into my eyes) was the largest, most beautiful, whitest Snow Owl I have ever seen. To this day I have not seen another Snow Owl in the "wild". It was incredible and we both stood there looking at few moments. It was truly a moment I will never forget.
