“Mental pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and also more hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden: it is easier to say “My tooth is aching” than to say “My heart is broken.”

For many years, I have suffered with a low level of depression.  Sometimes it may be hard to figure out what's going on or find the help you may need.

Here is a list of Happy Face Things that have helped to manage depression:

Journaling.
Long walks/hikes.
Swimming.
Meditation.
Talk Therapy.
Medication when needed.
Spending time with friends or family.
Spending time in nature and with pets.
Music.
Helping other people.
Aromatherapy.
Massage therapy.
